Some jobs take too long on foot. Some areas are too wet, steep, rough or sensitive for machinery. Some problems only become clear from above.
OctoDrones provides professionally operated drone services for practical aerial work — spraying, seeding, spreading, greenhouse whitewash and coatings, mapping, inspections, thermal, LiDAR, multispectral, Agremo analysis, media capture and heavy-lift support in Tasmania.
We do not sell drones. We bring the aircraft, pilots, planning, compliance and practical know-how to complete the job safely, efficiently and with useful results.

Why It Works
Drones can reach difficult areas, reduce ground impact, improve access and target treatment where machinery, foot access, dams, wet areas or timing make the job harder.

Compliance You Can Rely On
Every job is assessed for site suitability, product suitability, label requirements, weather, terrain, safety, access and CASA compliance before we fly, including approved night operations where suitable under our ReOC.

Where Drones Help
Crops, spraying & spreading
Aerial weed spraying, crop protection and preventative treatments such as fungicide and insecticide, fertiliser spraying and spreading, granular spreading, broadcast seeding, crop checks, dam reeds and aquatic weed spraying where suitable, variable-rate support and paddock access when timing, terrain or ground conditions make machinery difficult.
Pasture & livestock support
Pasture renovation, weed spraying, granular spreading, fertiliser spraying and spreading, dam reeds and aquatic weed spraying where suitable, land-condition monitoring and livestock-support tasks where aerial access makes sense.
Vineyards, orchards, canopy & horticulture work
Canopy checks, weed spraying, crop protection, preventative fungicide and insecticide treatments, fertiliser spraying and spreading, irrigation insight, block mapping and visual records for high-value growing areas.
Greenhouse whitewash & removal
Drone-applied greenhouse whitewash, temporary cooling coatings, wash-down/removal support and specialist coating work where roof access is unsafe or impractical.
Aquaculture, marine & kelp support
Feed and granular spreading, pen and lease inspections, coastal and shoreline documentation, marine site support, kelp-harvesting support and specialised aerial jobs where access from land or water is difficult.
Heavy-lift Drones
Heavy-lift drones can support remote delivery, difficult-access logistics, crew support, emergency response and specialist lifts using sling or winch systems where suitable.
Forestry & revegetation support
Post-harvest weed treatment, aerial seeding, revegetation support, terrain mapping and access to steep, wet or sensitive sites.
Inspection, access & project support
Infrastructure checks, erosion assessment, land capability reporting, site documentation and specialist project support where drones can reduce time on the ground.
About Us
OctoDrones combines CASA-compliant drone operations with hands-on technical and agricultural knowledge. We work in real field conditions, with real access, treatment and land-management challenges — including approved night operations where the job, site and safety requirements allow.

How it works
1
Tell us the job
What needs treating, checking, mapping, inspecting or reaching?
2
We assess suitability
We assess the site, airspace, weather, terrain, product suitability, safety requirements and the result you need.
3
We fly the mission
OctoDrones carries out the mission professionally, safely and in line with approvals.
4
You get the result
You receive the completed application, maps, imagery, inspection records, support delivery or practical findings.
Hard to reach, hard to see or hard to do?
Some of the best drone jobs do not fit neatly into a standard service list. If access, terrain, urgency or safety is the challenge, a drone may be part of the answer.
Ask us: Could a drone help with this?
Tell us what you are trying to do. If a drone is suitable, we will help work out the safest and most practical aerial approach.

Chief Remote Pilot / Technician
Billy leads flight operations under OctoDrones’ ReOC. As Chief Remote Pilot, he flies the aircraft, plans safe flight paths, positions the drone and manages payload operation during missions. His mechanic and electronics background supports equipment setup, pre-flight checks, aircraft reliability, field troubleshooting and practical problem solving.
Ali supports field operations as Payload Specialist, applying agri-ecology knowledge to payload preparation, APVMA-compliant spray and spread mix planning and spotting. She also flies drones as a qualified remote pilot endorsed on our aircraft, understanding aircraft, payloads and field conditions from operational and land-management perspectives.
